How to use the BeaST XDCC mIRC Script

  • Install the BeaST XDCC Script by following the steps listed here.
  • Open the script by typing /BX within mIRC or right click in the #BeaST-XDCC channel and choose the Beast-XDCC menu.


Main Tab

Main tab

* If you are not connected to the IRC Network specified in the Options or on #BeaST-chat, Join BeaST-XDCC will be displayed.

List the Latest Packs - Retrieves the 50 newest packs from the bot on #beast-chat.
Seach for a Pack - Opens the script's Search tab.
Find a Missing File - Joins #incomplete and gives you instructions on how to request missing files from a file you have downloaded. More info here.
Say Thanks - Messages #beast-chat "Thank you BeaST-XDCC"

Lists Tab

Lists tab

* This tab will only work when the #beast-chat bot is online.

Select a listing type from the drop down list and choose Request Listing. New packs will be displayed while you are in #beast-chat and are under the New listing.

Drop down displaying "Latest" - This is a list of triggers that are available to you via the #beast-chat bot. To see all the triggers, go here.
Request Listing - Messages #beast-chat a trigger based on what list type you selected in the drop down.
File List - Packs associated with the list type you selected are displayed here. Select a pack, and the time it was added will be displayed.
Search - Enabled when you select a pack from the list. Searches for the selected pack by opening the Search tab and using the script's internal cache (if enabled) or the #beast-chat bot.
Bot - Checked if you have Auto, Both, or Cache selected in the Search tab.
Cache - Checked if you have Auto, Both, or Bot selected in the Search tab.

Search Tab

Search tab

Search for a specific file or release in this tab. If there are no results, ensure you spelled the search term correctly.

! - Clears your search history from the drop down list.
Search Box/Drop Down List - Select a previously enterted file or enter a new file to search for.
Search - Searches for the selected pack by opening the Search tab and using
Search From - Select Auto*, Bot, Both*, or Cache* to search from. * - Disabled is internal cache is not enabled.
Auto - Searches the script's internal cache list and then if you have less than 6 results, searches via the #beast-chat bot. Can be used when the #beast-chat bot is offline. Internal cache must be enabled in Options .
Bot - Searches using the #beast-chat bot.
Both - Searches using both the internal cache list and the #beast-chat bot. Can be used when the #beast-chat bot is offline. Internal cache must be Options.
Cache - Searches the internal cache list and if no results, searches using the #beast-chat bot. Can be used when the #beast-chat bot is offline. Internal cache must be enabled in Options.
Cached Packs - Displays how many packs the script has cached from #BeaST-XDCC. The longer you are in #BeaST-XDCC the more packs you will cache.
File List - List of files found. Duplicate files displayed are due to more than one bot hosting the file.
Bot - Displays the bot that has the selected pack.
Size - Displays the file size of the selected pack.
Gets - Displays how many times the selected file has been downloaded (from the selected bot).
Pack # - Displays the pack number the selected file is on the bot. The lower the pack number will most likely yeild in a faster file transfer.
Copy - Copies the selected pack information and command to perform to the clipboard.
Add Queue - Adds the selected file to the Queue. See Queue tab.
Get Pack - Requests the selected file: Messages the bot /CTCP <bot> XDCC SEND <pack #>

Add to Requests - Adds the search term to the Requests tab. Learn more about requests here.
Add to AutoGet - Adds the search term to the AutoG tab.

Queue Tab

Queue Tab

This tab displays your file queue. Files are automatically queued if a Bot's send and queue slots are full.
Queued files are automatically requested from the Bots once the current DCC gets are completed.

You can add items to the Queue manually using the Add button or from the Search and Cache tabs.

Maximum number of active file sends - This is only for BeaST-XDCC DCC gets (received files). Enable this if you want only a certain number of file sent to you at one time.
^ - Increases the selected pack's priority in the queue.
v - Decreases the selected pack's priority in the queue.
Add - Manually adds a pack that you enter. You paste this from the search tab or manually enter in packs using the format: <Bot name> <Pack #> [Description (optional)]
Remove - Removes the selected pack fromt the queue.
Remove All - Clears the entire queue list. This will not cancel any current DCC gets.

AutoG Tab

AutoG tab

This tab automatically gets files for you based on the filter you specify.

You can add items to the AutoGet list after you have performed a search and there were no results OR you added a new request.

Enabled - Enables the AutoGet. Disable to increase a minimal amount of performance. You must be in #BeaST-XDCC for AutoGet to function.
Filter - Enter the file filter to automatically have the script download. Wildcard characters are not needed. Spaces and Periods will be turned into wildcards (*).
Add - Add the specified filter to the list.
SeasonPass - Lets you automatically download new TV series episodes as they are released. See more here.
Filter List - List of filters currently being checked for in #BeaST-XDCC. Limited to 50 filters. *Note: The more filters, the more cpu usage mIRC will use.
Remove - Removes the selected filter from the list.
History - Filters: Displays how many filters are complete. Select a filter from the drop down to see the time the filter found a file and the command used.
History - Clear - Clears the filter history.

Cache Tab

Cache tab

This tab will only work if internal cache is enabled in the options.

Bots Cached - Displays how many bots are currently cached.
Drop Down Bot List - Select a bot or !ALL! to display the selected bot's packs (or all of the cached packs).
! - Clear the internal cache list.
Packs - Number of packs on the selected bot (or all) from the file list.
File List - Displays the selected bot's (or all) files.
Gets - Displays how many times the selected file has been downloaded.
Size - Displays the file size of the selected file.
Pack # - Displays the pack number of the selected file.
Copy - Copies the file information along with the command to get the file to the clipboard.
Add Queue: - Adds the selected file to the queue. See the Queue tab.
Get Pack
- Requests the selected file: Messages the bot /CTCP <bot> XDCC SEND <pack #>

Requests Tab

Requests tab

This tab will automatically send your Requests after the duration between requests and minimum users criteria have been met.

* Please read the rules about Requests before using this tab here.

Auto-request when the... - Enables the auto request. You should enable this after it has been at least 24 hours since your last request was filled.
Current users - Displays the current users in #beast-chat. This is shown due to requests being accepted when on a certain number of users are in #beast-chat.
Last request was - Displays the last time you sent a !request or the last time your request was filled.
Your last request - Displays your last sent request.
Requests List - List of requests in order of precedence.
Copy - Copies the selected request to the clipboard.
^ - Moves the selected request higher in the the order of precedence.
v - Moves the selected request lower in the the order of precedence
View Current Requests - Displays the current requests list from #beast-chat's bot.
Add - Adds a request to the request list.
Remove - Removes the selected request from the script's request list.

DCCs Tab

DCCs tab

Current DCCs - Displays the current DCCs or file transfers from #BeaST-XDCC.
Cancel - Stops the selected DCC.
Brag - Sends a message to #beast-chat on the transfer statistics of the selected DCC.
Logged DCCs - Displays a list of completed and failed DCCs from #BeaST-XDCC.
Open File - Opens the selected file from Logged DCCs.
Open Dir - Opens the directory specified in the Options.
TV Dir - Opens the TV directory specified in the Options.
Clear Log - Clears the logged DCCs list.

Stats Tab

Stats tab

Packs listed - Displays how many times you have requested a list.
Uses - Displays how many times the script's dialog has been opened.
Joins - Displays how many times you have joined #beast-chat.
Searches - Displays how many times you have performed a search.
Install date - Displays the date when you installed the script.
Requests - Displays how many Requests you have made.

Cache stats:

Packs - Displays the current number of packs currently cached by the script.
Searches - Displays how many times you have searched the cache.

SeasonPass

SeasonPass

SeasonPass will download new TV series episodes as they are released on #BeaST-XDCC.
Follow steps 1 thru 5 to add items to the SeasonPass.

Step #1 - Wildcards are automatically added. Do NOT enter any symbols that are not in the actual name of the TV Series. To see what the series format/name is, type !s <series> in #BeaST-CHAT
Step #2 - Enter the Season and Episode you want to start downloading. Select * to download all.
Step #3 - Select either Any (SD or HD ) or High Definition. "Any" will download the first format that is released. High Defnition are 720p format releases.
Step #4 - Click 'Add to Season Pass' to add your TV series to the list. Verify the format looks similiar to the image above.
Remove - Removes the selected TV Series from SeasonPass.
View (Season Pass History) - Opens the SeasonPass History (exception list). The episodes in this list will NOT be downloaded. You can Add them manually to not download certain episodes OR Remove to have SeasonPass to download them again.
Always get PROPER or REPACK episodes - If there is a fixed release for an episode you have already received, SeasonPass will download the PROPER (or REPACK) release.


SeasonPass History

SeasonPass

The items in the SeasonPass History will NOT be downloaded. This list will automatically be updated once a TV Show's episode has been completed.

Add - Adds whatever text you specify. Wildcards will automatically be inserted where there are spaces.
Remove - Removes the selected listing. This can be used if you want to redownload an episode.
Remove ALL - Clears the SeasonPass History list.
Cleanup - Removes listings of old shows that are no longer in the SeasonPass list.
